On Watch for Serial Quitters

FORMER PRO WRESTLER and ex-governor of Minnesota Jesse Ventura made another one of his rather sniping comments of late: "Sarah Palin is a quitter. She quit as governor to go make money. I would have nothing to do with a party like that."

That logic would make Barack Obama a serial quitter then, and so many other politicians and coaches and uh, fill in the blank, as well. To quit one job to take another. Spin it anyway your experience takes ya, but everyone has his or her own motivating or extenuating circumstances, including athletes who jump college for the pros. Do we call these guys quitters. Some do, some don't. Jesse can say what he wants, but for those who thought he too had presidential or higher political ambitions than a one term governorship, it feels like he's a quitter too. Pretzel logic is all we have here folks, move along, nothing else to see here...

And while we are at it, ‚Äéhere's another quote worth posting.

"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling, which thinks that nothing is worth war, is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself." —John Stuart Mill

The mysteries of the mind lead us nowhere, but it is they the pragmatic who lead by example those who would follow leaving those who would refuse another chance to go nowhere.
