Severing Islam From The Fevers Which Harm All

N THE TIN PLATED HEELS OF AN ANNOUNCEMENT, surprising many, by British prime minister Tony Blair that the country needed to debate the impact of Islam on British soil and modernism, I just watched an interesting report on CNN. They showed a large gathering of Muslims protesting outside a prominent Catholic church in London. They were protesting against the Pope. How long has this churlish tantrum been going on now, two, three weeks? The Muslims were screaming obligatory death threats against anyone who dared speak out against their ruthless prophet or their Allah, carrying signs reading "Islam will defeat Rome."...

Scouts Honor: Afghanistan Is No Place For Americans

ET'S DROP THE PLUMB BOB HERE, talk some straight talk, and rid ourselves of mixed emotions on all this war effort hubris. Attempting to transform the wild west of Afghanistan is much too expensive, much too depleting, of Western resources—perhaps not as much as the fiasco in Iraq, but it is simply the same kind of misguided belief in the mutability of Muslim man that pays insufficient attention to the permanent hold of Islam, and what it means for the West. Resources are limited. Men of valor, war and peace material, morale. They have been squandered, in Afghanistan, as in...

The Awakening Of Jennifer Rubin

Always delighted to find opinions which articulate what we consistently inspire to communicate, Two-Fisted is honored to republish this comment by someone named CF Bleachers found at PajamasMedia. The number and poetry of clarifying points made by Bleachers is astonishing. Read on. Embrace fully one's awareness of the political environment. This will be a bumpy even dangerous ride we have ahead of us. Prepare thyselves. ENNIFER, BACK IN OCTOBER I wrote this response to one of Roger Kimball’s articles. I went back to survey my thoughts from that period to overlay them on today’s landscape. Roger had written about Chris...

Hard Talk From Newt Gingrich

ewt Gingrich of Georgia speaks out against George Bush's "Phoney War" with a resolute directness and strength most welcomed here at the Two-Fisted Quorum nee Project Scenewash. I've always liked Newt. I realize the man has his problems, and takes on some positions I am vehemently against, such as man-made climate change as an excruciatingly important issue, but I like the way he speaks his mind, taking on his detractors from a very direct posture. I won't spoil the fun by revealing too much here. Just watch the video.

Redefining The War

Hugh Fitzgerald has another point to make, and we take notice: war is on now. It will not be a "long war" (Cheney) or a "war lasting 20-40 years" (Blair). It is rather a war without end, for Islam commands Believers to remain in a permanent state of war—though not necessarily open warfare—against Infidels. It is a war that can be handled, contained, managed—but only if the Infidels, and those who presume to instruct and protect the peoples of Bilad al-kufr, the Lands of the Infidels, realize that the "war" is not only, and not even mainly, to be fought...
