Newsweek Acknowledges Global War On Christians

The War On Christians
THERE WAS INDEED GREAT NEWS for America from an old lefty rag that landed on newstands last month. Sure, Newsweek has long ago lost its way, its dignity, its circulation, its point of view, but its ailing circulation might have gotten a boost with a cover story from the unassailable Ayaan Hirsi Ali. In fact, I'm going to try to find one. No doubt her essay on the global war on Christianity (particularly harsh in Africa, the Middle East, and the Far East) will be precious reading for those of us who are accustomed to the shunning of anything Christian or Western and everything Islamic or foreign, and the issue's liable to become a collector's item, perhaps for signifying a paradigm shift in the way the news operations are seeing, analyzing and recording the world. What a breakthrough! Bravo!

IN 2004, Ms. Ali worked with Theo van Gogh, a grand-nephew of the famous painter and a renown film director in his own right, on a film depicting the specific plight of women in Islamic countries. Van Gogh was assassinated by a typically outraged knife-wielding Muslim, who left the knife and a paper note in the crumpled body of his victim, who he attacked on the streets of Amsterdam. After The Netherlands curtailed her security, citing costs, Ali immigrated to America and has been in hiding, fearing for her life since then. Here is her opening salvo...

We hear so often about Muslims as victims of abuse in the West and combatants in the Arab Spring’s fight against tyranny. But, in fact, a wholly different kind of war is underway—an unrecognized battle costing thousands of lives. Christians are being killed in the Islamic world because of their religion. It is a rising genocide that ought to provoke global alarm.

From one end of the Islamic world to the other Christians are being murdered.

The portrayal of Muslims as victims or heroes is at best partially accurate. In recent years the violent oppression of Christian minorities has become the norm in Muslim-majority nations stretching from West Africa and the Middle East to South Asia and Oceania. In some countries it is governments and their agents that have burned churches and imprisoned parishioners. In others, rebel groups and vigilantes have taken matters into their own hands, murdering Christians and driving them from regions where their roots go back centuries.

The media’s reticence on the subject no doubt has several sources. One may be fear of provoking additional violence. Another is most likely the influence of lobbying groups such as the Organization of Islamic Cooperation—a kind of United Nations of Islam centered in Saudi Arabia—and the Council on American-Islamic Relations. Over the past decade, these and similar groups have been remarkably successful in persuading leading public figures and journalists in the West to think of each and every example of perceived anti-Muslim discrimination as an expression of a systematic and sinister derangement called “Islamophobia”—a term that is meant to elicit the same moral disapproval as xenophobia or homophobia.

Read it all.

We can only aspire that Newsweek continues to look at the geo-political landscape without relying upon the extreme liberal bias cancer that has engulfed most of the world media and positions of power, a position which tends to distort facts and the language it uses to describe the distortion so as to better ignore inconvenient details in their wretched march to create a brave new world, one without borders, liberty, or good sense.

Here in the West, even wholesome Christianity is being systematically shunned and marginalized by the Left and its friends, in favor of these unimpressive Islamic newcomers to its shores, despite all evidence of this welcoming being a huge mistake.

  1. Ian, sounds plausible, pretty much syncs with what informs my positions on this topic. But then I always fret over certain details, as in II Chronicles 7:14 where it is written:

if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

because there is suddenly of late quite a number of preachers sweating the details of THE NAME, and are quite vigilant in parsing the ancient Hebraic notations in "scolding" us for using words like God, Jesus, Christ, Lord, Jehovah, et cetera to express the name of the Creator, God of Abraham. This back to Torah movement has actually been a part of my own yearnings for most of my adult religious life, some 35 years or so. But the legalism has always seemed too much an insane climb as a gentile to be going alone without the cultural safety net of the Judaic insider.

Finally, the movement I had always desired has begun, but I am too feeble in mind and burdened with obligations to suddenly submit to the often repulsive syllable-splitting writings of this new breed of rather lupine Torah evangelists, so I walk alone with my savior, yearning liberty, justice, truth, putting my voice to derivative atoms of electronic order, recognizing my failures, obeying my commander, but hoping for mercy at the throne when eventually called.

    Thanks for your great input!

    Islam the End-Time "Scourge"?

Islam, part of the Living River of History, can affect even the 2012 US election!

The "headwaters" of this River was Adam, according to Judaism, Christianity, Islam etc .

In the OT (Deut. 28), "tributaries" wanting to join the River will be blessed while "distributaries" who want to flow away from it will be cursed. Those wishing to totally separate from the fresh Living River will end up as polluted, dying "oxbow lakes."

In the OT we see Israelites repeatedly flowing away from God, then repenting and returning to Him; we also see heathen "oxbow lakes" creating their own "gods" and being allowed by God to plunder and kill the erring Israelites.

Then, at the right time, the Living River took on new life with the arrival of the Promised One who offers "living water."

In the 7th century Islam, drawing from both OT and NT, chose to be a distributary away from this River. Many scholars have viewed it as the final Antichrist: note "scourge" (Isa. 28), "Assyrian" (Mic. 5), "Euphrates" (Rev. 9) etc.

God will allow this "scourge" to temporarily persecute and even kill apostate Jews (JINOs) and Christians (CINOs). Jews, especially in "entertainment," seem more expert in apostasy than Christians since Jews have been at it 2000 years longer than Christians have - but Christians apparently want to catch up to the Jews!

It's apparent that others will join Islam in its end-time inquisition; its great oil wealth can captivate many leaders and already we are seeing apostate American leaders being bribed into turning against true American patriots.

Those who ignore (or try to dilute or destroy) the God-ordained Living River of History will be swept down it to an ocean made by their own never-ending tears of agony and despair. The good news is that American JINOs & CINOs can overcome the "scourge" discussed above. The secret is found by checking out "II Chronicles 7:14" & "John 3:16" on the web. And there's still time - and freedom - before the 2012 "End of America" election to Google or Yahoo "Pretrib Rapture Politics" and "Christ's return is NOT imminent."
