There Is A Promise Coming Down That Dusty Road

Fighting The Future
By Paul Stanner

ON SHAMIAN ISLAND IN Guangzhou there is a hotel called The White Swan Hotel. This hotel is easily one of the best if not the best hotel in Guangzhou and is famous in Guangzhou and Guandong for it's opulence and so rightly so. The decadent consumerism would make any capitalist proud. It would also probably make Chairman Mao spin in his grave. lol As with most things in life however there are two sides to this coin. The White Swan Hotel is also famous for a far more important reason. This is the hotel adoptive parents of Chinese children stay at while waiting for the finalization of their children's adoptions. The hotel rolls out the red carpet for these parents and indulges them with the Royal treatment. The vast majority of these parents are Americans although not all there are some other Westerners.

From my admittedly unscientific research into this adoption phenomenon I've been able to conclude a few things that I'm confident would be borne out in a more scientific investigation and I know for a fact are true of the three families I will be speaking about momentarily. The vast majority are committed Christians and I do NOT mean Kumbaya Christians, these folks actually talk the talk AND walk the walk, home schoolers, Conservative, Caucasian and probably TEA Party supporters. The vast majority also have more than one adopted child and quite often of varying races. They are also truck drivers, Doctors, Nurses, teachers , mechanics, factory workers and clerks. In short they come from all strata of American society.

Wouldn’t it be nice to see the N.A.A.C.P. honor one of these families in their “Image” award shows? Wouldn’t it be nice to hear the radical FemiNazis condemn China’s policies regarding female babies? Wouldn’t it have been nice to see one of these families honored at the recent state dinner for Chinese President Hu Jin Tao? Wouldn’t it have been nice and brilliant P.R. by the way for Chinese President Hu Jin Tao to have had an audience with these families and honored them?
This past week I've had the opportunity to speak with three American families that are in the process of adopting Chinese children. The families were from Oregon , Mississippi and Kentucky. The families from Kentucky and Oregon adopted baby girls. Their new daughters were abandoned because they were female and had health problems. One of the girls was left on a street corner in a big city in Shandong all by herself at THREE years old. Her parents didn't want her because she was female and because she had a hole in her heart. The other little girl was abandoned also. I didn't get a chance to ask of the specifics of her abandonment but it's always the same in China with these cases . The children are either female or have health problems or both. The family from Mississippi adopted a little boy that was abandoned because he had spinal health problems. Although these situations are nothing new to me and the parents reactions were all the same and not a surprise to me when I expressed my shock to them I think you all may be surprised.

"Life is cheap in China," they all said.

After being in China for ten years I can certainly attest to the validity of that fact. Well thankfully life isn't so cheap to these committed Christians. They opened their hearts and not insignificantly their wallets to give these kids a home and a chance in life.

Why is it that all we ever hear about from The N.A.A.C.P., the "Rev. Jessie "Hymie Town" Jackson, the Rev. Al "Tawana" Sharpton, The " Reverend "Calypso" Louis Farrakhan and the rest of the Poverty Pimps and political hucksters regarding these folks is that they are ignorant, racist, hayseeds from Podunk? Wouldn't it be nice to see the N.A.A.C.P. honor one of these families in their "Image" award shows? Wouldn't it be nice to hear the radical FemiNazis condemn China's policies regarding female babies? Wouldn't it have been nice to see one of these families honored at the recent state dinner for Chinese President Hu Jin Tao? Wouldn't it have been nice and brilliant P.R. by the way for Chinese President Hu Jin Tao to have had an audience with these families and honored them? Wouldn't it be nice if just once our Usurper In Chief could mention these Americans on his World Apology Tour?

Well I think we all know when that will happen. These folks you see do not answer to The Chief Community Organizer they answer to a higher authority. There are no votes to be gotten by honoring or emulating these folks. There is no cheap labor to be gained by honoring and emulating these folks. There is no cheap political victory to be won by honoring and emulating these folks. There is good news to be told however.

Long after the Hope and Change of the current political system has passed into the outhouse of history these folks will still be doing what they do because their boss, The King Of Hope tells them to. When their children grow up they will most likely do the same as their parents and also most likely spread The King's Message Of Hope. Won't it be a glorious day when America is ruled by The King again instead of The One?

There is a promise coming down that dusty road. We ought not be building toll booths.

God bless Americans. I've never been more proud to be American.

We salute you Paul Stanner for a well-versed reminder that little is what it seems, but most is what it is. You put your finger on the pulse of good folks working for good and seek not the glory that the world parcels out as long as it gets a bilker's share, and again, we applaud you for giving us this peek at a more aptly tuned reality...

Bernanke Cast Doubts On Administration's Jobs Claims

President Barack H. Obama
Declining joblessness figures, sprouting lately from the current administration like so many spring crocuses, have left even the Chairman of the Federal Reserve, Ben Bernanke, puzzled over numbers that are "out of sync" with the overall economy.

"The combination of relatively modest GDP growth with the more substantial improvement in the labor market over the past year is something of a puzzle," Bernanke admitted to the National Association for Business Economics earlier this week.

Bernanke then proceeded to explain why unemployment figures from the administration seem so out of step with the reality most folks are experiencing. He started with a basic, but often overlooked, part of the jobless equation. "The monthly increase in payroll employment, which commands so much public attention, is a net change," he said. "It equals the number of hires during the month less the number of separations (including layoffs, quits, and other separations)[.]"

Then Bernanke concluded, "the increase in employment since the end of 2009 has been due to a significant decline in layoffs but only a moderate improvement in hiring."

So, despite the Obamedia's attempt to paint a sunny picture heading into the November election—note their relative inattention to Bernanke's speech—very few new jobs are actually being created during Obama's watch. In fact, the most recent numbers from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, cited by Bernanke, show that the number of people being hired has declined in 2012—even as Obama officials reported that unemployment figures came down.

Early in his administration Barack Obama said that job creation was goal Number One. He promised to create 3 million new jobs during his first two years in office, a pledge which would seem laughable if his failure didn't adversely affect so many people. Even with recent improvements in jobless numbers—caused mainly by a slowing of layoffs—as Benanke noted, "private payroll employment remains more than 5 million jobs below its previous peak; the jobs shortfall is even larger, of course, when increases in the size of the labor force are taken into account."
The Obama administration was claiming jobless improvement in a job market that, according to non-Obama sources, was still grim. "American employers put the brakes on new jobs in January," according to Forbes, citing employment firm ADP. And Gallup reported in February that their surveys show new hirings dropped and that "the February score matches those recorded from October through December 2011."

As to the unemployment numbers emanating from Obama's regime, Bernanke noted, "the better jobs numbers seem somewhat out of sync with the overall pace of economic expansion," before concluding, "the job market remains quite weak relative to historical norms."

This article points out the corrupt methodology this administration has used on the American people since day one. Opening the Obama toolbox, one would suffix lie after lie, distortion after distortion, monkey wrench after monkey wrench. Our puerile president is NOT inept. He is defiantly on point, with concerted efforts to deconstruct American history, its industry, its liberty—its very way of life. He doesn't seem to care to whom he hands off a weakened America—could be the Soviets-in-training, the Chinese, or the Islamic Caliphate he works so diligently to reward at the expense of his own supposed homeland.

A RECENT PEW RESEARCH poll shows American attitudes about Islam trending toward accepting the narrative that organizations like CAIR (Council on American-Islamic Relations) are peddling. This narrative includes the propositions that Islam is and historically has been a religion of peace and that Muslims are the victims of a great deal of discrimination in this country.

Not coincidentally, this faulty narrative is being peddled in many of our public schools. Small wonder more and more Americans are falling for it. Several months ago the ACT! for America Mission Viejo (CA) chapter completed an eye-opening report about the disinformation and outright propaganda showing up in US public school curricula and textbooks that deal with Islam. The Scenewash Project has reported frequently on this topic, but our opinions pale in comparison to the Orwellian "newspeak" that has recently been handed down by California's education establishment with respect to teaching Islamic studies. For instance, as reported in the Investors Business Daily editorial below:

...the suggested framework glorifies Shariah as a liberal reform movement that "rejected" the mistreatment of women that existed in Arabia before Muhammad and his successors conquered the region, according to Accuracy in Academia. The guidelines claim that Islamic law established for the first time that men and women were entitled to equal "respect."

This astonishing example of historical revisionism is just one more reason why we communicate such a sense of urgency to you about the rapid advance of radical Islam and creeping shariah here in the United States. Our window to build the organized resistance to defeat this is not twenty or thirty years long—it is more like five to ten at best.

Over the past two decades college campuses have become hotbeds for pro-Islamist, anti-Israel, anti-Semitic, and anti-American indoctrination. This has now made its way into our public high schools and middle schools.

If an entire generation of American students are successfully indoctrinated with lies, such as that shariah Islamic law established that men and women were entitled to equal respect, the chances that we can successfully roll back the rising tide of radical Islam dim immensely.

As Adolf Hitler is reported to have said to the adults in Germany, "I care not what you think...I have the children."

Recently, Fox News reported that the head of CIE—now known as the Institute on Religion and Civic Values—misled California education authorities about his academic credentials. For one, Shabbir Mansuri never received a USC degree in chemical engineering as he has claimed, Fox says.

The group's Web site no longer includes the claim. These are the folks who are teaching your children about Islam in public schools. Parents have protested, even sued, but to no avail.

For example, parents of seventh-graders in the San Francisco area, who after 9/11 were taught pro-Islamic lessons as part of California's world history curriculum, sued under the First Amendment ban on religious establishment. They argued, reasonably, that the government was promoting Islam by mandating that their kids participate in Muslim role-playing exercises such as designing prayer rugs, taking an Arabic name and essentially "becoming a Muslim" for two full weeks.

Children also were told to recite aloud Muslim prayers that begin with "In the name of Allah, most gracious, most merciful," and memorize the Muslim profession of faith: "Allah is the only true God, and Muhammad is his messenger."

But a federal judge appointed by President Clinton told parents in so many words to get over it, that the state was merely teaching kids about another "culture."

California's 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals upheld the decision, ruling that it was OK to put public-school kids through Muslim role-playing exercises. The decision was a major victory for the multiculturalists and Islamic apologists in California and across the country who've never met a culture or religion they didn't like—with the exception of Western civilization and Christianity.

You can't teach the Ten Commandments in public schools. But teaching the five pillars of Islam is A-OK.

VA Congressman Frank Wolf Busy On The Job

SEVEN ATTEMPTS BY U.S. Rep. Frank Wolf (R-10) to have the U.S. State Department initiate an investigation into controversial textbooks used at two Islamic schools in Northern Virginia have gone unanswered. In his seventh letter in less than a year to the department, Wolf calls continued inaction on the part of the department "inexcusable."

The Islamic Saudi Academy, or ISA, has close ties with the government of Saudi Arabia, which Wolf says charges the State Department with overseeing any investigation of it, under the Foreign Missions Act of 1982.

"The Saudi ambassador is the head of the school," said Wolf.

ISA has two campuses. One in Alexandria on Richmond Highway, and another in Fairfax on Pope's Head Road. Material in some textbooks used at both campuses has been called "intolerant" and "shocking" by the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom, and by Ali Al-Ahmed, director of the The Institute for Gulf Affairs, a nonpartisan Washington, D.C., think tank.

According to Al-Ahmed, one example is a 10th-grade work that "indulges in anti-Semitic conspiracy theories." Wolf said, "Textbooks used in Saudi Arabia are very anti-Semitic, anti-Christian and pretty hate-filled." While some textbook material has reportedly been changed due to pressure from the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom, Wolf says an independent investigation of the textbooks and their overarching use at the academy has yet to be initiated.

"We're just asking that there be an independent evaluation by someone that's not paid by the Saudi Academy," Wolf said.

In a letter to Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton on March 12, Wolf wrote: "According to AP, 'while the Islamic Saudi Academy deleted some of the most contentious passages from the texts, copies provided to the Associated Press show that enough sensitive material remains to fuel critics who claim the books show intolerance toward those who do not follow strict interpretations of Islam.'"

10th District
VA 10th District
The 10th District, stretching from McLean to Winchester, is home to some of the world’s leading Internet and high-tech companies, thousands of federal employees and other professionals.

Agriculture and manufacturing also are an important part of the 10th District’s economy. Clarke and Frederick counties in the western end of the District produce about half of Virginia’s apples and peaches; Henkel-Harris furniture and Rubbermaid have large manufacturing plants in the District.

Tourism is important, too. Civil War battlefields, including Manassas National Battlefield Park, dot the 10th District. The Shenandoah Valley Battlefields National Historic District includes Fisher's Hill/Cedar Creek; Cross Keys/Port Republic; Second Winchester; Third Winchester/Opequon, and New Market. One of the nation’s newest national parks is also in the 10th District. Cedar Creek and Belle Grove National Park, established in 2002, will serve as a model for future parks because private landowners and organizations will continue to live, work and operate within the park's borders. Other major tourism draws are Skyline Drive in the Blue Ridge Mountains, the Shenandoah River, and the Appalachian Trail.

Camille Paglia Weighs In On Palin

Camilla Paglia

Here, straight from the old gal's keyboard is an endorsement you can believe in...

I've always had a special place on my intellectual shelf for Camille Paglia, ever since she broke ranks with the man-hating feminists of her era, initiating what came to be known as second wave feminism. I immediately latched on sometime in the early 1980s right after discovering teh art of Judy Chicago while the few punk rocks kids coming out of college I was meeting in DC were still mouthing the ever photogenic and portable Gloria Steinem. The unread, were, well, unread. Meanwhile, today we can read how Paglia nails Obama to the wall even though he is her stated candidate, but she takes it a step farther by telling us how much she loves the ballsy strength of Sarah Palin.

This woman, Camille Paglia, just gets it, she really gets it.

Getting To The Gist Of It

mosque-spying-protest
Born yesterday?

The primary audience for Fitna isn't Muslims, so Eteraz' opinion is irrelevant. Let's get to the gist of it. In fact, the more I think about it, the more I like Geert Wilder's shifting of the onus of reform to Muslims.

I, for one, am utterly unconvinced that the West is even in the smallest way responsible for the jihad declared against us, although I do admit that we've made the jihad against us stronger by not understanding its origins and methods. I refuse to take even the slightest responsibility for Muslim grievances and refuse to give in one iota to their demands. As far as I'm concerned, Islam is a completely illegitimate entity upon this earth and, as such, Muslims have no basis for making claims upon any non-Muslim, even including any claim that "we" should stop "exploiting" Muslims and Muslim lands.

By adhering to Islam, Muslims abdicate those rights. I'm a human rights universalist, but I also believe that an individual's beliefs (including his beliefs about the relationship of belief to action) can place him "beyond the pale" of human rights, at which point he becomes "persona non grata" on this planet. This, and the potential consequences thereof, should be explained to them once. They will either "get it" or they will not.

As for the "originality" of his guest's "review", I guess amongst Muslims such feigned indifference might seem original, but for any Westerner who's gone through the "disaffected teen" stage, that's old hat.
