Tennessee Town Stands Up To Textbook Jihad

doctoredDear Gabriel—can you imagine the noisy scene? No doubt you've probably heard the news. Perspective is beginning to shift in this nation. Let me assure you that this is a big, big deal for the American people and for American liberty.

The Tennessee Department of Education’s "Textbook Commission" is meeting to consider the approval of recommended social studies textbooks for the state’s public schools. Normally, nobody from the public shows up at these meetings.

But this time, ACT! for America chapter leaders and members are out in force. They’ve done their homework, using our “Education or Indoctrination: The Treatment of Islam in 6th through 12th grade American Textbooks” report. They’ve done the legwork, educating public officials and the members of this textbook commission, showing them the many flawed and biased ways Islam is presented in the textbooks they are considering. And then the time comes for the commissioners to vote on whether or not to approve the textbooks.

And not one of them makes a motion to do so. So a second call was made for a motion. And not one of them offers the motion. The state’s Director of Curriculum stands up and sternly warns the commissioners there’s a deadline looming and they need to approve these books. And the commissioners hold fast and refuse to approve the textbooks. Wow. To our knowledge this is the first time a state textbook selection committee has refused to approve textbooks due to concerns about how Islam is presented!

Yes, folks, you can fight city hall. It’s not easy, but it can be done. You have to be informed, organized and strategic. Which is what we do at ACT! for America and what our Tennessee chapter leaders and members did. They did it smart. They did it right. And they’re just the latest example of what ACT! for America is accomplishing and how our strategic and grassroots approach WORKS!

The final chapter still has to be written. There’s another commission meeting on October 23. We need the commissioners to stand their ground and refuse to approve these social studies textbooks. If you live in Tennessee, you can help push this across the finish line by contacting the Rutherford County chapter of ACT! for America.

Thank you, ACT! for America chapter leaders and members in Tennessee for your awesome work on our behalf. Keep fighting the good fight!

Kansas Votes To Stifle Sharia

“In this great country of ours and in the state of Kansas, women have equal rights,” Wagle said during the Senate’s debate. “They stone women to death in countries that have Shariah law.”
A BILL DESIGNED TO PREVENT Kansas courts or government agencies from making decisions based on Islamic or other foreign legal codes has cleared the state Legislature after a contentious debate about whether the measure upholds American values or appeals to prejudice against Muslims. The Senate approved the bill Friday on a 33-3 vote. The House had approved it, 120-0, earlier in the week. The measure goes next to Republican Gov. Sam Brownback, who hasn’t said whether he’ll sign or veto the measure.

The measure doesn’t specifically mention Shariah law, which broadly refers to codes within the Islamic legal system. Instead, it says that courts, administrative agencies or state tribunals can’t base rulings on any foreign law or legal system that would not grant the parties the same rights guaranteed by state and U.S. constitutions.

But several supporters specifically cited the potential use of Shariah law in Kansas as their concern. Though there are no known cases in which a Kansas judge has based a ruling on Islamic law, supporters of the bill cited a pending case in Sedgwick County in which a man seeking to divorce his wife has asked for property to be divided under a marriage contract in line with Shariah law. The bill’s supporters said it simply ensures that legal decisions will protect long-cherished liberties, such as freedom of speech and religion and the right to equal treatment under the law. Sen. Susan Wagle, a Wichita Republican, said a vote for the legislation is a vote to protect women.

“We don’t have any intolerance in this bill. Nobody’s stripped of their freedom of religion,” stipulated Sen. Ty Masterson, (Andover-R) adding, “This is talking about the law—American law, American courts.”

“In this great country of ours and in the state of Kansas, women have equal rights,” Wagle was quoted to have said during the Senate’s debate. She also noted that “They stone women to death in countries that have Shariah law.”

The bill passed both chambers by wide margins because even some legislators who were skeptical of it believed it was broad and bland enough that it didn’t represent a specific political attack on Muslims. Several senators noted that supporters of the bill have singled out Shariah law in talking about it, but we at the Project must ask what particularly is the fault in that? Wagle's comments point precisely to the inducements of foreign invasion, and if it were not an issue of concern, Americans would not foster this concern. So we must applaud agle's remarks.

“This bill will put Kansas in a light that says we are intolerant of any other faith,” said Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Tim Owens, an Overland Park Republican who voted against the bill. “I would not be able to look at myself in the mirror in the morning if I didn’t stand up and say I don’t want to be that kind of person and I don’t want to be in a community or a state that is that way.”

Both the Council on American-Islamic Relations and the National Conference of State Legislatures say anti-Shariah proposals have been considered in 20 states, including Kansas. Oklahoma voters approved a ballot initiative in 2010 that specifically mentioned Shariah law, but both a federal judge and a federal appeals court blocked it.

“It is an effort to demonize Islam,” said Ibrahim Hooper, a spokesman for the Washington-based council. “As Muslims are seen participating in a positive way in society, that really irritates some people.” No. It is the Muslims who push for favoritism and brutality in society that really irritate some people. What we can't figure out is why it doesn't irritate ALL people. We are shocked that at this late date, only 20 states have moved to protect its sovereignty from this danger of creeping sharia.

Last year, 45 Kansas House members, led by Rep. Peggy Mast, an Emporia Republican sponsored a bill aimed at Shariah law. The House approved it overwhelmingly, but it stalled in the Senate; this year, the House pushed another version, and pressure built on senators.

Mast had a news conference Thursday to highlight the Sedgwick County case, in which Hussein Hamdeh, a Wichita State University physics professor, filed for a divorce in November 2010 from his wife, Hala. Their Islamic marriage contract, made in Lebanon, promised her a $5,000 payment should they split. He argued that the contract settled property issues, while Islamic law limited spousal maintenance payments to her to three months. Her attorney said in a court document that following Islamic law would leave her “destitute.”

Hussein Hamdeh’s attorney declined to comment on the case which is pending, and did not return a telephone message seeking comment.

Sen. Garrett Love, a Montezuma Republican, said even if no Kansas court has yet based a decision on foreign legal codes, “That doesn’t mean we shouldn’t still protect Kansans from those foreign laws being used in the future—a future that really may not be that far away.” But several senators questioned whether the legislation is necessary, arguing Kansas judges and officials already must adhere to the U.S. and state constitutions. Hooper derided it as “an anti-unicorn” bill.

“All it does is increase hostility toward Islam and suspicion of Muslims,” Hooper said.

And you know something Ibrahim? Should you and your Muslims friends actually begin to fit into American society, drop your allegiance to sharia, honor killings, and street takeovers for prayer displays, begin showing your love for your new country and her citizenry, I'll grant you can count on this "hostility" and "suspicicion" simply melting away here in America. Give it a shot. You might be surprised...

Of course, given your doctrinal penchant for taqiyya, it will take some time, maybe a hundred years.

Teddy Roosevelt's America (In His Own Words)

Roosevelt's Observations Just As Relevant Today
In the first place we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin.

But this is predicated upon the man's becoming in very fact an American, and nothing but an American. There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all.

We have room for but one flag, the American flag, and this excludes the red flag, which symbolizes all wars against liberty and civilization, just as much as it excludes any foreign flag of a nation to which we are hostile. We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language—and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."

Big Capitalism Soars As The New Communist Fascism

CAPITALISM IS NO LONGER the doting parentage we in the West grew up with in the 40s-60s.The one that gave rise to the middle class standards of living which became defined as the American Dream.

The super rich want to combine Capitalism and Socialism to create an American Plutocracy, an oligarchy run by the wealthiest segements who pass legislation beneficial only to them and their corporation that all the rest of us must endure and live meager lives to support.
Instead, one may say that America is becoming a Capitalistic Socialist nation. The combining of pure authoritarian communism and the power and capital of capitalism. This was the famous writer Jack London's fear back in the early 1930s just before he perished of alcoholism. When has a corporation ever been run like a democracy? Never! The CEO is the dictator authoritarian in charge, the upper management is the stalag, and the share holders are the Soviet Politburo. The workers (the masses) are the peasant class exploited for their cheap labor, skills, capital and anything of value.

Big Government is only as big as the corporate elite make it. The United States government is the best government big money can buy! Forget about Left vs. Right, Government is owned, run and paid for by corporate America thank to electioneering contributions.

Why do you think Democratic or Republican administrations put ex-corporate CEOs and Fortune 700 business giants into postions of authority for all of its beaurocratic Departments. Government is created by the corporate masters to do its dirty work, passing well-disguised legislation to benefit the rich at the little man's expense, and to also give us—the American people—the illusion of a party vs. party system of democracy. A dog and pony show the puppeteer puts on while controlling both Left and Right with its dueling Big Government ideologies. A man and his politics isn't much different than a dog and her groom. Both relationships require trust and obedience.

Despite all the boastful chatter about the job creators, it seems worthy to note of this ponzi math problem that with each generation the uber wealthy cartel are the real threat to human decency, freedom, liberty and democracies everywhere. The super rich want to combine Capitalism and Socialism to create an American Plutocracy, an oligarchy run by the wealthiest segements who pass legislation beneficial only to them and their corporation that all the rest of us must endure and live meager lives to support. And why should they not? Given that self-interest is the less than pliant mantra of all that is big capitalism? Unchecked power accumulation (and its objective wealth) has always been the salient flaw in Ayn Rand's capitalistic Objectivist philosophy.

Rarely in the best interest of the struggling masses, despite Rand's insistance that the worker has a level playing field in dealing with the bosses. The honest Objectivist is as much a myth as the Barry Bonds home run record. Both require an asterisk. In fact, Raw Objectivism, Big Capitalism, Communist Fascism bare little resemblance to freedom or democracy for those remaining taskless in the outskirts of civil decency with nothing of their own but earnest desires to fend and toil for themselves on an empty field. That's the very definition of irresponsible winning.

capitalism
Philosopher Ayn Rand

Yet, scanning a Democracy, a Republic or a pure Autocratic Totalitarian state, one thing can be counted on as certain. The men with the money are always wrapped in a flag and deemed democratically free, and are without restraint to continue their plundering and amassing.

All of the above can be said and BE TRUE without giving up on Tea Party values.

This realization makes a patriotic American very sad. I say let's annoint Newt Ginginch, Allen West, John Bolten, Marco Rubio, Sarah Palin and others to the awful task of rebuilding our nation, a reproof to what the generations of corrupt self-indulgent politicians have wrought upon us...

The Passive Meaning Of Work

Retooling the purpose of a public park...
TODAY, AMERICANS AWAKEN TO ANOTHER HOLIDAY with the bustling of waterside picnics, star-studded telethons, budget-friendly car sales, and a cascade of sports events suited up as far as the camera can field. Summer holidays all seem the same, flag-waving and potato salad, white sales and peculiar packaging of the same old song and dance.

By 1914, the American Federation of Labor was deeply disturbed by this tendency to depoliticize what they saw as a holiday to aggrandize labor unions and try to brainwash the masses with socialist propaganda. “Shall Labor Day lose its distinctive character and become a mere holiday for general meaningless purposes and for the exploitation for private profit?” a union publication asked. “Some labor organizations … have abandoned regular Labor Day demonstrations, parades, meetings, addresses, in the belief that such expenditure of time, effort and money is wasteful. This is a most serious mistake. … Observance of the day is a means of educating public thought and agents for molding public opinion in regard to the principles and purposes of the labor movement.”

Having turned away from the seventh day as a day of rest from all our labors to shop and shame our Maker in menial tasks, even as a conservative, one should empathize with people whose choice or right to work in order to support himself and his family is often blighted by economic forces which make this task an even more arduous one. Have Americans forgotten how to recall the history of a great nation and a great people with any other spirit short of merchandizing it to death?

The life sentence given to humanity by Yahweh to Adam that ye shall work by the sweat of your brow can often, in this ruthless roulette game, begin as or become a pleasurable task followed by a satisfying if not formidable reward for one's labor, but far too often far too few of these outcomes are presented to the larger dispossessed sectors of humanity. Enter politics the savior.

And MANKIND has been chasing its own tale ever since.

Read it all.

Of Tea Parties, Confederates and Sugar-Coated Do-Nuthins

Every Gang An Aggressor
Every Gang An Aggressor, We Told You We Didn't Like Your Kind Around Here

IN ANOTHER SHREWD BUT OBVIOUS MOVE, we at Project Scenewash jest and dangle from the limbs of just desserts when we state for the record that it has been revealed to us through fact and fiction that the Left is "the master" of political projection and audience misdirection. But like many who have no doubt kicked at the gravel beneath our feet, we too confess there are times that we try to see things from the Left's point of view but the big picture they paint just NEVER makes any sense at all to us. And we ain't big time successful capitalists, peace time, war time, beat 'em up, bang 'em down social banqueteers either, just ordinary working folks who choose to err on the side of humility, even humble arrogance (much preferable to arrogant humility) in our lives so as to plead justice for all in our spare time, not just for the "special" classes who seem to move in cotton pickin' what's up is down pecking ordered herds and seek dominance over others, nevertheless, but for the common idealist among us, the one who practices the kinder gentler arts of friendship, polite political gamemanship, kinetic oratory in the marketplace always with a strong dose of spiritual hope, but raises none of these to the height of a false idol.

With these few concessions offered to both free spirited friend and foe alike, we encourage you to read the following essay with its hidden emphasis on pots and kettles. While the Right can be soundly debated on one issue or another (with a nod to the libertarian's take on the constitutional pursuit of happiness language), it's clear why some people will NEVER understand nor compromise with the hysterical and fact-fudging Left.
